What could be called an "Irish Wake" was held by supporters of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) at the Artspace gallery, the on same day their historic headquarters building burn, on Aug. 25, 2009. Supporters gatthered for a fundrasier entitled "Arts from the Ashes" as donations of money and office equipments was collected for their new offices at the StageWorks film studio in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. Residents of the neighborhood where SRAC called home, in Princess Park, wonder if buidling's demise will be a death blow to the already run-down section of the southern city.
